Hi everyone, How are we all doing? It's all a bit messy at the moment which makes it easy to get overwhelmed, doesn't it? I've discovered a newfound appreciation for my craftwork at the moment; it definitely creates a sense of calm in a wild ocean. Like many of you, I am using a lot of bits and pieces from my personal stash and, while I am loving the trip down fabric memory lane, sometimes I just want something new to fill a gap or spark a piece up a bit. One of my favourite designs in fabric has always been lined drawn buildings, especially well-filled in city and terrace type housing scenes. Remember these delightful fabrics from earlier this year?
We have now added two more with both black and white backgrounds and in a smaller scale. These are fun to play with perspective in a quilt, as quilt or block backgrounds, black and white quilts or to build little towns – anything you like!
We also have some beautiful new Essential Gradations from Kennard & Kennard, Midnight Rainbow and Earth Spectrum. Don't you love those names – they just evoke so many ideas and story lines. Finally (for today at least) another backing fabric in black with swirls in bright solids. Very useful and fun to use! And yes... we are making masks! These are three layers, inner and outer of our beautiful pure cotton fabrics, and a filter layer of non-woven fabric. We can include a pocket for an additional disposable filter. I will do a separate Facebook post with more details and photos but in the meantime, please contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or on 02 66571200 and we can get some underway for you! For a bit of housekeeping info, for anyone local, we are definitely, absolutely NOT doing anymore mending or altering or curtaining! NO! I have the last piece to hand now and that's it. We don't have a set up to do mending efficiently at the moment and it all became a bit much. Take care everyone, stay safe.
