Anne Sommerlad

  Anne Sommerlad  from the Blue Mountains. Although Anne has had a career as a High School Music Teacher for some 25 years, her passion has always been fabric. As far back as she can remember, she always had creative projects on the go - from dolls clothes, to her own clothes, to theatrical costumes and finally, she discovered quilts!! Anne teaches throughout Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Central Coast and could be described as an eclectic designer.  All kinds of fabrics appeal to her and she loves the challenge of creating new projects with them. She really enjoy designing quilts to meet the specific needs of her students and she finds her laptop and design programme to be an invaluable aid in assisting people to visualise a completed quilt. Her personal passion is for Traditional quilt designs and she is currently reproducing many antique quilts from archival photographs and books. She consider herself privileged to be able to have "taken her passion and made it her profession"
